For our 25th company anniversary, it wasn´t just about celebrating it was about creating an experience that truly strengthened unity and team spirit. And what an experience it was: a sailing weekend on the Ijsselmeer. Three days filled with adventure, camaraderie and unforgettable moments that brought us closer together than ever before.
25 Years of MPC - A Milestone Celebration Like No Other
The Beginning: A Surprise Start to the Adventure
A memorable anniversary deserves a memorable surprise.
On Friday morning at 7:30, we boarded a bus together - picnic supplies packed and ready – with the destination still a secret.
After a hearty picnic and in high spirits, the first stop was finally revealed: Amsterdam
We enjoyed a canal cruise through the historic city, followed by a leisurely walk and then the onward trip to Enkhuizen. In the evening, we settled into our cabins aboard the sailing ship - but rest was far off. Signing, laughter and newly composed versions of our company song kept the mood soaring until the night came to a close end in the legendary club “Zum langen Jan”. For some, it ended only at sunrise.
Teamwork Under Sail – Community in Action
After a strong breakfast on Saturday, the call rang out: “Cast off!”
On the Ijsselmeer, everyone pitched in - hoisting sails, handling ropes, setting the course. It quickly became clear: sailing only works as a team, and the shared effort made the day all the more meaningful.
During our crossing to Hoorn, we were treated to excellent food on board. On the beach, games and small competitions awaited us, sparking plenty of laughter and a healthy dose of sporting spirit.
The evening concluded with a festive barbecue featuring shrimp, chicken, pork knuckles, sausages, salads, and much more. A feast for everyone. The day wound down in great company calmer than the night before, but with just as much joy.
Returning Home with the Wind at Our Backs
Sunday was all about the journey home.
Under bright sunshine, we hoisted the sails one last time and headed back toward our home port. Once again, it was clear: every pair of hands, every task, every contribution counts when a team is determined to succeed.
In the afternoon, the bus took us back home, tired but full of memories and stories. And yes, Monday morning came a little harder than usual for some of us.
Conclusion: An Experience That Bring Us Together
This sailing weekend was far more than a company outing. It was a celebation of 25 years of success, unity, and shared passion. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make it happen, who celebrated with us, and who laughed along the way.
